Private Label Rights Articles (or ‘PLR’) are articles that are originally written by an author who remains anonymous. When you purchase the rights to some PLR articles, you buy the right to claim the articles as your own, publish them under your name, modify them, add to them, etc.

There are several things to consider when considering purchasing PLR articles. Here is a quick summary.

The Good
Using PLR Content on your website or blog allows you to immediately create content. No need to wait for inspiration, write and edit it, nothing. You will have a content-rich website right way. You can use PLR articles for content on your website or blog, you can condense it in an eBook you can sell for profit, or you can use the content as part of a newsletter or autoresponder series.

The Bad
The main drawback to using PLR content is its wide distribution. Google and other major search engines frown upon duplicate content, and having a website full of information found on other websites as well is likely to hurt your ranking potential. Always be careful when purchasing PLR content to make sure that the product distribution is either limited, or that the offer contains an enormous amount of content, so it’s less likely many people will be using the same PLR articles.

The Ugly
If you want to use PLR articles as content for your website, blog, newsletter, or anything else, you will need to exercise common sense. Open one of the articles, select and copy part of a sentence – at least 5-10 words, and search Google using those words in brackets (‘[]’). Google will show you who else is using the same article, and you can decide for yourself if a PLR article already has too much distribution.

More than likely, you will have to rewrite or at least rearrange all the PLR articles you use, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Remember, you want to offer something significant and unique to the visitors to your website, and adding a little bit of work to the PLR articles you publish certainly qualifies as such.

Google will reward your rewriting efforts with greater rankings, which should lead to increased traffic and profits.

PLR Articles and Content are a great way to quickly and inexpensively add content to your website or blog. With just a little bit of work, you can transform common text into interesting articles that will entice your readers to visit again and again.

You’ve heard it a hundred times. No, a thousand times. If you want to boost your Google Ranking, and along with that your Adsense revenue, you must have content. But what, exactly, is content?

In a few words, content is something — whatever it is — that brings added value to the visitor of your website.

The best and most obvious form of content, and the one I will focus on today, is information. Chances are, the visitor to your website did not arrive there by luck or Divine Intervention. He or she was looking for something, and is counting on your website to provide it.

The information could be something as simple as your opinion on a certain matter, politics or religion for example, or could be a technical or how-to guide. The better and more precise your information, the more popular it will be, and the more traffic you will have on your website, boosting your earnings.

Content is King!

There are several ways to get content on your Website. In this article I will review the most popular, listing the pros and cons of each.

Article Directories

Article Directories are a great source of content for your Website. From these directories you can choose from hundreds of thousands of articles which you can publish, free of charge, on your own website. The obvious advantage of using such a technique is that you have access to a great number of articles from a large range of topics, which you can use to instantly provide quality content on your website. The less-obvious but major disadvantage of such a tactic is that when you reprint the articles, you are obliged to leave the author box intact, the latter always containing a link to the author’s own website. This creates “outbound” links you do not control. If you are trying to earn money from your website, then every single link going out from it should be directed to somewhere where you can profit, which is not the case here.

Private Label Rights

Private Label Rights (or “PLR”) Articles are gaining in popularity. The concept is simple. You subscribe, for a fee, to a service that will provide you, every month, with new articles on a range of topics which you can claim as your own (publish under your own name) and print on your website. The membership to these services is usually “Limited”, meaning that they will only take a certain number of customers in order to avoid duplicate content. The main advantage is obvious: with little or no effort, you can pass yourself off as a “guru” in a certain field, apparently “writing” article upon article. The disadvantage is that while the memberships to these services are limited, Google is very, very apt at finding duplicate content, so if you want your effort to pay off, you will need to extensively rewrite every single article so that it appears genuinely unique. This is a very time consuming endeavor, especially if you are not familiar with the topic of the article you are trying to rewrite.

Writing Your Own Content

Writing your very content for your website is the best way to go. The advantages of doing so are many. Google (and Google Adsense) will love your site because of its truly unique content, and reward you with greater revenue and ranking. Your Website’s content will make it a “destination” website, because you offer what no one else does.

As a bonus, you, as the writer, will actually learn something from your writing efforts, and with time, your writing will become better, your content will improve, and the rankings, traffic and therefore revenue should snowball. You may think you know nothing of a certain topic, and you may be right, but once you’ve written 25 or 50 articles on that topic, people will start looking to you as a ‘go-to’ guy or girl in that field.

The major disadvantage of writing your own content is that you have to write it. It takes time, research and dedication to be able to write convincingly on any given topic. Even if you are writing on a topic you know well, the simple act of writing is too stressful and/or demanding for many people.

Whether you use Article Directories, Private Label Rights (PLR) Articles, or write your own content, the important thing is that you provide something unique and valuable for your visitors. You will always be rewarded for going the extra mile, even though it may not be obvious at first.
